Following in Los Angeles‘ footsteps and Bogata‘s before that, San Diego held its first-ever CicloSDias last Sunday. The event took place on a five mile stretch from Golden Hill through North Park and South Park to Cherokee Point Elemntary School in City Heights. Similar to other “Bike the Drive” events elsewhere, the Ciclovia events close off streets to cyclists and pedestrians only.

According to Ed Clancy, San Diego’s manager of bicycle initiatives, the event exceeded expectations and they are looking to hold more going forward.
