Salt Lake City is prepping to launch its solar powered bike share program GREENbike in early April.  The non-profit organization SLC Bike Share has partnered with the City of Salt Lake and the Downtown Alliance to make this bike share program happen.  According to SLC Bike Share, stations will be located near every major downtown destination from City Creek and the Gateway to the Salt Palace and Main Street.  The program will open with 10 stations and 100 bicycles, which are B-Cycle bikes manufactured by Trek.

GREENbike is set to launch on April 8, 2013 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Gallivan Center at 10:30 a.m., followed by a kickoff and fundraiser event on April 9 at Squatters Pub Brewery from 5:30 p.m – 8:30 p.m. to support GREENbike.  For more details, visit the SLC Bike Share Facebook page.
