Will Resiman of the SF Examiner reports that Alta Bicycle Share has finalized a deal with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) a little over a week after Supervisor Scott Wiener proposed that the City bypass the pilot program for a full-fledged system. It is currently unclear whether Alta, BAAQMD and SFMTC will agree to increase the size of the program’s launch. The latest report is that the system will feature 700 bikes at 70 stations during its initial launch in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Redwood City, Mountain View, and San Jose.
BikeShare.com has submitted a request for a copy of the contracts that Alta and BAAQMD have signed for further details on the deal.
